At D2M we worked with ammunition design group in San Francisco and their start-up client ReGen.

The ReNu personal solar charger concept had a battery so you could hang in your window or a sunny spot and then charge your iphone at night.

We did all the engineering design and development, supply chain sourcing in China, and Alpha units up to tool release.

We worked hard to make the premium PV panel components be black, tidy and ‘dead-front’ (vs the iridescent blue PV of the time) and a lot of optimization for charging conditions and performance. Batteries can’t charge if they get too hot while the best charging condition is direct sunlight.
